It's pretty standard but 1991 is the big one for me. RHCP, Pearl Jam, REM, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Crowded House, Boyz2Men, 2Pac, GnR, NWA, Metallica. Massive for a kid at intermediate.

Great topic Simon. For me it has to be 1994. Portishead "Dummy", NIN - "The Downward Spiral", Nirvana - "MTV Unplugged", Alice in Chains - "Jar of Flies", Soundgarden - "Superunknown", Beck - "Mellow Gold", Beastie Boys - "Ill Communication", Massive Attack - "Protection", the list goes on... I can't think of another year with so many great albums personally. Off topic - what did you think of the Stöner gig?

Yeah - 92/93/94/95/96 all big years for me - real "discovery" of my own music, moving away from what my brother bought into the house (classic rock) and what my folks had already (all of which I loved then and most of it still...)

Really enjoyed the Stöner gig. Loved the Rubber Snake Charmers, and really liked Stöner, unpopular opinion, but always thought Nick Oliveri was a mediocre hack, totally overrated, and clearly more of a hindrance than anything, so actually preferred them as a duo. Loved the drum sound, and the drummer. And just think Brant Bjork is a dude, has a throwback Joe Walsh vibe, which I admire very much. Prob won't listen to their recorded music much but loved that gig. You?

Yeah, I really enjoyed the Snake Charmers too, Sean Wheeler was a revelation! And agree on Nick O - I'm surprised they even applied for a visa for him knowing some of the crazy shit he's been up to in recent years!

Wheeler was like if Tom Waits and Perry Farrell somehow merged - both to look at and listen to. Kinda uncanny really.
