I really enjoyed Matthew Bannister's book and I'm sure Ian Chapman's is good, but it's sad news that the 33 1/3 series has been captured by academia, much like the indie music scene.

This was going to be my prospectus for my Oceania book. Now I have to make it happen without them

(My favourite of these books is John Niven’s “Music From Big Pink” - especially his description of how the atmosphere changes when Dylan walks into a room.
