I'd forgotten about "Sailing" until I heard playing as part of the yacht-rock playlist that played in the Auckland Town Hall recently, prior to Mr Bungle taking the stage. You just know they curated those songs themselves, and there was something about that that made it instantly a favourite again!
Oh yeah. Big time. I never forget that time seeing Faith No More on the Album of the Year tour, all in their suited and booted phase and they play Bacharach’s This Guy’s In Love With You, really around the time I had just started to gel with the song. It was so sublime. “Sailing” before Bungle was as on point as that amazing mid-set cover of Spandau Ballet’s “True” eh.
