I think that's a pretty astute suggestion about Rubin or Lanois taking production duties for spin. What I wouldn't give to hear that combo. I agree, I think it would give it a worthwhile spark under Mark's bum because this album's got that "safe space" thing going on and sometimes his music needs a tiny bit of extra edge to it. That's coming from a place of deep affection for his catalogue.

A lot of guys of that ilk could do with outside production but will never do that now eh. Huge fan of his catalogue in general of course, as I’m sure I’ve made clear.

Nah, I can't imagine them feeling like they could be brave enough to do it. They're comfortable. I think the thing that worked so well with Johnny Cash was that he was about as bottom as he could get by that point so anything was worth a shot and it was just nice for his point of view that Rubin even cared.
