Hardly getting over it...

Up the front I didn't get any of the crowd disrespect you describe. Nice review and agree that the CAG two fer was the centrepiece and highlight. Pretty awesome set and if there were any questions if a 64 year old dude with his guitar on one setting could entertain for 90 mins he answered that entirely. I think, pound for pound, he's put more ripples in the pond for alternative rock than anyone. From a songwriting perspective, the fact that he and Grant Hart had the fortune or misfortune to be in the same band is just astonishing for any muso that takes the time.

I was so happy to see him and he almost seemed happy himself. He wields that guitar like a chainsaw and it pretty much guaranteed that everything became a hardcore song, even Hardly Getting Over It. Embarrassingly I was accused of being his lost twin on more than one occasion.

Well if you see any “Husker Du singer caught shoplifting on security camera” headlines you know what’s happened.

Was there much/anything from Beaster? Love that EP.

It was mostly solo/husker - agree, love Beaster, the whole finite Sugar catalogue is wonderful
