Great read. I used brushes in our band 90% of gigs … funny thing was the cheap $15 ones from the rock shop were way better then the pricey $50 ones. But there was always the worry if u hit the rim of snare at the wrong angle or played too hard the entire bunch … 100s of mini steel brushes exploded all at once leaving you with nothing but a handle mid song . It happened a lot . Australian band “the lucksmiths used brushes well too.
