Trigger Warnings:
Wednesday is about books, and reading, and writing. Here, today, some trigger warnings…
On page 27/ someone loses their head! Oh no, not decapitation, just rage. But, wow, does he get wound up eh. It’s quite confronting and shit.
On page 39/ there’s a scene where someone gets a haircut. Scissors (possibly lesbian coding) are involved.
On page 108/ someone falls down a hole. No broken bones though, just internet fallout. So, you know, ‘facts’ about how the earth is actually cooling. Oh, and Jacinda gets called Jab-Cinda. And an ugly c/nt.
On page 131/ there’s a smoking gun. Obviously ‘triggered.’But also where is the evidence after? And what was the lead-up? The warning here is for very bad writing!!!
On page 187/ there’s a murder most fowl. But it’s actually a guy saying he could “murder a curry.” And he does. Big chicken curry. Seconds for everyone.
On page 218/ there’s blood everywhere. Paper cut. Sorry to whoever reads this next!
On page 284/ it says The End, but I did not find the ending at all satisfying. In fact, it’s quite terrible. In fact, spoiler alert, don’t read this book. In fact, get a life. Go outside. Take a walk. Go to the park. You might find someone on the park bench with a sadder story than you. You might learn something too. You might find it’s just what you need. This world is hardly ever fair. Triggering used to mean action, used to mean a happy reminder, used to mean you were excited about something/anything.
On page 285/ Todd Rundgren is thanked in the credits.
