I can’t argue against the fact that overall this is one of the weaker albums by The Cure. Closer, even, to a Robert Smith solo album. He clearly wasn’t quite sure where he wanted the band to go, what he wanted it to be - and this was the tentative first step (well, not even the first step, but album-wise it was) in breaking away …
