The 1001 Albums Challenge # 12: Jacques Brel – “Olympia 64”
It was the Infiniment compilation that gave me the wider story around Jacques Brel, until then he was just a guy that was an influence on Scott Walker, Jarvis Cocker, David Bowie, Tom Waits and many other musicians that I dug. I knew a few of the songs, but that double-disc and its notes provided the real proof. I have to say though, hearing Olympia 64 –
