When it was announced that the new Beck album, Morning Phase, was intended as a “companion piece” to 2002’s Sea Change, I had two thoughts:

1) crikey - that’s a cynical piece of marketing/thing to do to rope in those who have been turned off by middling efforts like Guero and The Information
