It was quite something to see Sharon Van Etten again. I interviewed her ahead of the 2015 appearance in Wellington. She was just “a shy kid” still, her words. And though it’s always something to be in the presence of her voice, live or on record, that gig wasn’t the full story. She was just finding her feet as a performer, and we got the truncated version of the live act, just a duo – not the full band.

But this time it was everything.
