Saturday Morning Records: #11 — Under The Pink by Tori Amos
A new series for paying subscribers — celebrating favourite albums for the weekend
I love Tori Amos’ early material in particular. And at one point, I had written off a lot of the albums that arrived much later — but, you know what, there’s a lot of gold in them there hills. And I’ve returned to confirm that, several times across recent years.
But, to begin with, it was all about that debut, Little Earthquakes. And I loved that so fiercely, and still do.
And maybe there’s something more special about the album now, if anything. Certainly, I feel more closely bonded to her second record, Under The Pink now, than perhaps I did at the time.
