R.I.P. Horace Silver

Sad to hear, just now, of the passing of Horace Silver. I first heard his slinky playing on a series of Miles Davis records, then I started to check the labels and found I knew Silver from his work with Art Blakey too. In fact the list from there just grows – he’s on albums I love by Lee Morgan and Sonny Rollins, he played with Clark Terry and Hank Mobl…
