Poem: Walking Away

She made a smile just for me created with utmost sensitivity

I held on to that smile long after her dial left the counter

such an encounter can not go unmentioned. (Which is why it isn’t).

Me, now, home from work and mid-way thru my first bourbon

recollecting the best part of the retail day.

She looked so lovely as she turned and walked

away
