Poem: Three Pies For Lunch

A poem about being hungry. But not THAT hungry.

I took the dog for a walk, stopped
at the bakery on the way home and
bought three pies: one for my wife,

one for my son, and one for me. But
the person serving said, “are these
to have here or takeaway”.  

Who sits and eats three pies in public –
I thought, as I sheepishly said, “takeaway
thanks”.           We are all judging people.
