What if there was ‘walk on’ music
just for whenever you need. You wouldn’t
have to — but you could. There when
you need it, pick a theme. Or have
a state-appointed soundtrack written
for you (I promise it would not be by
The Black Seeds or Tiki Taane). Like
Warhol and Bowie on a speed-date,
you could have a streamlined “fifteen
seconds of FAME” — and if that felt wrong,
you could pick again. Maybe Led Zep,
because the song doesn’t have to
remain the same — you can choose
new entrance music any time you arrive.
But it’s only ever the same thing
when you go. No one gets a say.
It’s Requiem. If we gave everyone a choice,
they would all pick ‘Stay’.
