Poem: Thank You For Voting

The slow marching death of us all took a break, it seems.

Which is a relief. And the only one.

Right now, it feels good to be alive once again – and still.

And fingers crossed, it always will. Though we all know

that it won’t, that it can’t and that it sometimes – even – doesn’t

(while it’s happening). Still, today feels like one of the good ones.
