Poem: Souled

he sold his 
soul, got 
a bargain price. 
 
the price was  
right, they’d 
eat two-minute 
rice tonight. 
 
another starving 
artist and some 
more stories of  
struggle and ordeal 
but for the price  
of a soul he’ll 
make it through for  
at least one more meal. 
 
and that makes him 
smart – realistic. and good.
