Poem: Rushing

Oh fuck, she was talking it up and when the glottal stops started there was no coming back

It was either this or that but never anything in         between

she had the answers. And most of the questions.

And she talked about state of mind

which I wouldn’t have minded had there been any stateliness

at all.
