Poem: In and Out

the end of the day arrived as soon as it could

the fire inside remained for as long as it should

outside, the world isn’t perfect but it often seems better than here

inside, there’s terrible trouble – but only if and as you are aware

the next day is always the hope for something more

consistency will do of course; in fact that’s the ultimate score.
