Poem: Friday Night Out

when thinking of buying drinks for the girls, he counted six

And so bought six midoris with lemonade

but the one he had wanted most to give a drink to

had by that stage left with anyone else

so he drank two down, waiting...

when she arrived back in the bar he had a bottle of shiraz and a smile

and as the smile widened the hole seemed to deepen
