Poem: completion

on the day when you tried your very best to catch the sun on the water,

to take it – and place it near your heart, to let it truly shine -  

you were as close as you’d ever be to  an epiphany.

closer, still, when you tried to relate it to me. 

here i am now, knowing i could never do it justice.

hoping to, all the  same.
