Playlist: Faith No More, Wellington Setlist (May 1993)

A new playlist of a very old gig. It was just over 30 years ago that I first saw Faith No More. They blew my mind. Made me a fan for life. Here's the setlist from the night in a handy Spotify playlist

Every now and then I check in on this YouTube clip of the time Faith No More played in Wellington in 1993.

I was still in school - but it was holidays, so mum drove me and a mate down so we could go to the gig. My first time in Wellington Town Hall. I’d move to the city 18 months later and see hundreds of gigs - and then maybe thousands. Certainly I saw dozens of them in the Town Hall (R.I.P. Town Hall).

Angel Dust was brand new - I bought a copy on the way to the gig, didn’t even get a chance to listen to it all before I saw the set that night. It was instantly my new favourite album. I still consider it the blueprint for a type of metal/rock that I don’t get to hear elsewhere enough (not ‘properly’ anyway).

I’ve long thought it was one of the best gigs ever.
