Today’s fix is Exile on Main St. by The Rolling Stones
And this one’s personal. As time goes on, I feel — increasingly — a love/hate relationship to the music of The Rolling Stones. I was all but raised on it, they felt like the pinnacle of stadium rock the two times I saw them live, but you know what, mid. These days I feel very deflated by this alleged cock-rock. It’s just old man music now. Maybe it always was, too? Obviously, I still have a few favourites, and right time, right place I’m a pimp big time for Some Girls and Tattoo You, and Let It Bleed and Beggar’s Banquet, and Sticky Fingers too.
But the one I’ve always felt a huge love/hate thing for is Exile on Main St.
So, time to ‘fix’ this mess of a ‘double’ album.
