Five (or six) Forever Friday Favourites
Bonus Friday Post For Paid Subscribers - w/ the usual weekly playlist...
Well, as I mentioned in the second part of my Sinead O’Connor tribute it didn’t feel quite right leaving you with a playlist that features anything else, when that post was entirely about the music that O’Connor left for us.
It also doesn’t feel quite right spamming your inboxes and/or jamming your app - but I had already made the weekly playlist, and I like it, and want to share it.
So I thought I’d share a bit of music with the paying subscribers. If you’ve recently subscribed, I have automatically comped you a week or a month so you can see how you like it - so you’ll be getting this post too.
I have a few reglar Friday Favourites. Music sounds better on Friday. Some music really carries you across to the weekend, right? Well, I’ve always felt that way. I have some 5pm-on-a-Friday favourites in particular. Songs/albums for the walk home. Music I know so well, it’s in my bones. Music that moves me (literally, helping propel me home, at the end of a tiring week).
I thought I could share a few of those favourite albums here - and you can do the same. And then I’ll end with the regular Something For The Weekend playlist.
In recent years, soundtracks have been my focus - but I’m coming out of that period of just relentlessly and only listening to movie scores. I’m not back into a lot of the music I loved 20 and 30 years ago. The nineties being a particular focus.
